Lourdes Portillo, one of six honorees in the "2021 Essential SF," presented by SFFILM, hosts of San Francisco Film Festival

In April 2022, Lourdes Portillo was honored as one of the six honorees in the 2021 Essential SF, SFFILM’s compendium of people and organizations most vital to the Bay Area film community.

The 2021 Essential SF honorees are: Allied Global Marketing, Michael Anders, Box Cubed, Tommy Lau, Lourdes Portillo, The Roxie Theater, and the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Media and Film Department. The emcee was Michael Fox.
