Yolanda López has long been an influential artist and activist in the Bay Area and beyond. Her work, including her "Guadalupe series" of icon images that include paintings, drawings, collages and prints, and re-imagine the Virgen de Guadalupe as an icon of modern Chicana womanhood, continues to inspire and light the way for other artists.
